Dr. Margaret Hessen received an A.B. degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1978 and an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in 1982. She is board certified in the fields of Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, and has extensive clinical experience in both fields. She has engaged in both laboratory and clinical research, and has published numerous scientific papers, review articles, book chapters and web-based medical material. Areas of specific interest include clinical infectious disease practice, hospital epidemiology and infection control, bacterial endocarditis, influenza, emerging infections, and pharmacology of anti-infective agents.
